BLESSINGS UPDATE-October 2006
At 3¾ years of age, JDA continues to grow in ways that I never would have believed possible. The opportunities to grow have presented themselves and we have taken them. The resulting company is not something that I could have planned or orchestrated. It is much better than that.
We have 10 bright and talented employees including 7 engineers. We are now into a bigger building with lots of room, great workspaces, and great equipment. We give all the credit to God. We pray that our work will be worthy of His blessing.

God's Blessings Often Appear as Misfortune
I did not want to leave my last employer. I was prepared to work along side him for years as he gradually retired and passed his business on to me. He approached us, the three engineers working for him, and asked us to set out on our own. I was excited about it, but I was not ready. I probably would not have rushed into starting my own business without any preparation, but the issue was forced upon me. It was stressful, but it has worked out for the best.
I did not want to start out alone in business. I felt left out when the other engineers didn’t ask me to be in their partnership. It was stressful, but it has worked out for the best.
I did not want to leave my former employer’s office, where we worked for the first year. I liked the low rent. I liked being in the same office with my former employer, who was a great resource of knowledge and experience, as well as a source of clients. It was stressful, but it has worked out for the best.
All of these things could be viewed as negatives, and were viewed as negatives at first. But they were in fact great blessings. Even if I had tried, I could not have orchestrated: going out on my own, establishing a solid business with loyal clientele, hiring 5 excellent employees, and buying and furnishing a building, all in one year. It was orchestrated for me. The interesting thing is that every step along the way first had the appearance of misfortune. But the way it has unfolded is far better than I ever would have dreamed possible.
Last Sunday’s Psalm (96) said: “…give to the LORD glory and praise; give to the LORD the glory due his name! Proclaim his marvelous deeds to all the nations…” So that’s what I’m doing now.
