Since 1981, Joe DeReuil has assisted in or has been Structural Engineer of Record for projects totaling over 13 million square feet. His experience covers a wide variety of major building types including office buildings, churches, schools, condominiums, hotels, stadiums, museums, military facilities, aircraft hangars, water treatment facilities, custom residences, and bridges.

Joe DeReuil graduated from Georgia Tech in 1981 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, including a year at the L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Upon graduation, he worked in Atlanta as a structural engineer for Heery International for five years. He then worked for Nielsen/Uzun Structural Engineers as a consulting structural engineer for various Atlanta architects including Thompson Ventulett Stainback, Smallwood Reynolds Stewart and Stewart, and Cooper-Carry.

Joe moved from Atlanta to Pensacola in 1993 to head the Structural Department at Baskerville-Donovan. In 1998 he joined Samuel Johnson Inc. and worked with Sam until his restructuring at the end of 2002.
