Since 2002, JDA has been providing premier structural engineering services. As team players we seek to communicate clearly. Our responsibility to ensure the design of safe structures is of utmost importance. We not only listen, but respond with answers to meet the challenges presented and exceed expectations.

Joe DeReuil Associates has been built largely upon the principles gleaned from 40 years of observing the Structural Engineering profession and from talented mentors. With diverse and talented engineers and staff, state of the art software and equipment-we are poised to be productive and responsive.

Joe has always held an appreciation of architecture and thoroughly enjoys the design process. He has strived to instill this spirit into the JDA staff.

Our Approach

We explore various structural solutions to support the client’s vision. As a result of this exploration, we advise of the costs and benefits of the various options that will meet their goals. We like to express the structure wherever possible because it is an honest expression of the structure and often very economical. We take pride in our work and take the time to refine the detailing and proportion of the structure, with constant respect for the architects vision. We believe that the proper amount of engineering time spent on the project and a complete and clear set of Construction Documents will result in an economical and successful project through construction.

Our Schedule

We have a relatively large staff because that allows us to properly staff projects. There is no substitute for putting in the time to explore the details. We are keenly aware of the importance of schedule and the fact that we are just one small piece of a team, therefore we must meet the project deadlines for the sake of the owner’s schedule. That having been said, we believe that adhering to the traditional Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document phases, with owner reviews each step of the way, will help keep the project on schedule and avoid backtracking.
